Creating Edible Art Sculpture

Mold (Clay - Not edible!) :)

Oil Clay (to create the sculpture) & Silicone mold - See the process detail on the post: https://www.sandraalbers.com/p...

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons sugar (for the thickening and styling effect)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice (for its acidity and slight fragrance)
  • 1/4 cup water (for dissolving the sugar)
  • - 1 tsps of strawberry jelly (any brand/homemade)

Instructions:

  1. Combine sugar and water: In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat the mixture on low heat, stirring constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved. This may take 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add lime juice: Once the sugar is dissolved, remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the lime juice. The lime juice will help adjust the pH of the mixture, giving it some styling benefits.
  3. Add strawberry jelly and mix it for less than a minute.
  4. Pour the liquid into the silicone mold and wait for 30 min. You can put in the fridge/freeze to speed up the cooling process.
  5. Remove from mold and have fun!

The work is part of a Sketching Sculpture projects (UWLAX Fall 2024) - see other project/tasks here: https://www.canva.com/design/D...
